            Ingredients:


      1 pound ham diced 

      1.2 onion diced

      1 quart chicken stock

      2 tablespoons butter 

      3 cloves garlic sliced 

      1 bay leaf

      1 pound dried split peas rinsed 

      2 ribs celery diced

      Salt and ground black pepper to taste

      1.2 cups water 



             Directions:

        

       Step.1

In a (large) soup pot? Melt butter over low heat? Add onion and (chopped garlic) (celery) and stir? Cook and stir until onion is translucent? but not brown, 7 to 8 minutes?


         Step.2

Add (bay leaf) and (pea) ham and stir? Add cheese and (chicken stock) and mix? 
And cook until (peas) are soft and (soup thickens)? About 1 hour 10 minutes? And (stir occasionally)? Add black (pepper powder) salt and serve?
